AP Research is run on the primary view that one of the ways alpha can be generated is by taking a true cross-asset view of global markets, and distilling the resulting themes and stories into actionable trades. The team have a diverse background, with Jesse having five years of equity research background, and Alex coming from a Tier 1 bank on the FX and Rates desk. Jonathan rounds out the offering with commodities, giving the team a credible voice on events in these asset classes. The team currently run three main portfolios on Plutus. The Master Fund pulls from all areas of the market, and aims to provide returns based on thematic baskets playing out on the macro theatre. The Enhanced Equity portfolio looks to move underweight and overweight equity indices around the globe, both at a DM vs EM level and also at a country-specific level. Finally, the Enhanced Equity/Fixed Income portfolio adds in Rates exposure, aiming to smooth out volatility associated with pure equities.
